Artists of the Month:
When it comes to bold, eccentric art with an Eastern flaire, Maryam Hashemi, the Iranian-born British artist dazzles the viewer. Her work maybe eccentric and potentially controversial but it grasps the viewer's attention mainly with its rhythm for elegance. Hashemi's talent shines through in making  bold angels and demons unexpectedly elegant.  CLICK ON THE IMAGE AND VIEW THE COLLECTION!

Ramin Talaie's haunting pictory of one of Iran's largest prisons, Qezel-Hesar is absolutely riveting. The
pictures effectively explore Iran's controversial yet seemingly effective prevention program of methadone
pills used to defeat addiction. Ramin T. is an Iranian born photo-journalist who resides in NYC.

Our featured photographer is the talented Iranian born Marjan Zahed Kindersley whose body of work harbors a mysterious appeal.

Marjan's photography is captivating in that it seems to be telling the viewer a story about life or particulary the common

objects of our lifetime. Her "Bra Series" seems to follow a journey of a tired bra, or perhaps the woman behind the bra who

has left her mark on the most uncommon places. Marjan describes her work as "a question of pleasure ......as simple and as

complicated as that!" Click on the image to view MZK's on-line portfolio. Enjoy!

Persian American Artists
Artists have always been remarkable contributors to the social and cultural scene in the Persian community. But today their role is arguably more significant than ever. In a time when political scrutiny in the Mid-East is at its peak, Persian-American artists are undeniably fighting stereotypes by showing elements of culture and tradition that best characterize Persian Americans. We want to empower those artists to create more...to speak their mind...and to be the vessels of communication for the Persian community. Write us and tell us what you think! Contribute to our blog!
